Glam is short for glamour(ous). Dictionary.com defines glamour [glam-er] as "the quality of fascinating, alluring, or attracting, especially by a combination of charm and good looks; enchantment."
When I think glam, I think about fashion, Hollywood, lights and cameras, stars, beauty, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe...
How is this site glamorous? New topics that will satisfy the glam part of glamfitbutterfly.com will be fashion (trends, apparel, reviews etc.) and entertainment (music, TV, film, books, etc.).
Fit(ness):
Survival of the fittest...
If you asked someone what the word fit meant to them, you would get a wide range of answers; it means different things to everyone. I feel fit now that I am slimming down and working on my body and health. Just getting down to the size range recommended for my age, sex and height will be fit for me regardless if I have rock hard abs or not. I can now hold my plank without crying, so I feel like I am headed in the right direction. :) Others may feel a 6-pack indicates that you're fit also. (This will be discussed in a later post... LOOK OUT!) The fashion oriented would say fit has everything to do with garment sizing.
One could be intellectually fit (the blog will hopefully help you gain knowledge of fitness and amongst other topics), be fit enough to start the workout process (check with your doctor before starting a workout regimen; I suggest getting a physical like I did), or the physical state of being fit or looking fit.
Just a little tidbit: fit is also slang for "outfit".
Butterfly:
Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty. ~Maya Angelou
Like the butterfly, I have the strength and the hope to believe, In time, I will emerge from my cocoon... Transformed. ~Unknown

I have always loved butterflies, so much so I have permanently inked on my body! To me, butterflies symbolize beauty, metamorphosis, and change. Butterflies also symbolizes the transformation, soul, birth, death and resurrection.
Stages of the Butterfly
Birth => Caterpillar Death => cocoon/chrysalis Rebirth => butterfly
Working out is all about change! I am changing my everyday routines, the way I eat, the way I think about food, the way my body looks, the way my body moves, the way I look, and so much more when I make the choice to workout!
So again I welcome you to glamfitbutterfly.com
