Eating Out Without a Doubt!

I told you all that I would follow-up my travel weekend with some help for you the next time you are traveling or out-and-about without any pre-prepped snacks or meals. Well here it is!

Rules:

1. No fried foods (Keep your eyes on the prize when you choose those sides! Choose a baked potatoes or salad.

2. Chill just get it grilled!

3. Proteins: the less legs the better! Being that fish has no legs, it would be the best choice. Next better to not a good: chicken, turkey, pork, beef, steak...

4. Take off the skin on your meats!

5. No mayo or special sauces hun.

6. Your beverage of choice should be water.

You're out-and-about or simply traveling and foregoing restaurants then...

Gas Station Pit Stop:
• Choose water, fruits, nuts, beef
jerky, peanut butter or sandwiches

If you must eat at a Restaurants, here's some options:

Wendy's
• Wendy's Garden Sensation Salads
with low-fat dressing
• Grilled Chicken Sandwich and a
side of salad with a low-fat
dressing
• Large chili with a side of salad and
of course a low-fat dressing
• Or a small chili paired with a
baked potato and steamed
broccoli
• So you are really craving that
cheeseburger? Get a single patty
with cheese. Remember rule #5!

Pizza places such as Domino's, Papa John's & Pizza Hut
• Thin crust veggie pizza
• Thin crust Hawaiian
• Thin crust cheese
• Grilled chicken or steak varieties
• Whole wheat crust
• No breadsticks. Only side can be
a salad with you guessed it, low-
fat dressing

Boston Market (Yum! *Mouth waters)
• Honey Glazed ham, steamed
veggies, fresh fruit
• Marinated grilled chicken, steam
veggies, fresh fruit
• Rotisserie turkey (no skin), green
beans, fresh fruit
• Rotisserie chicken (no skin), garlic
new potatoes, fresh fruit (wish I
could get that Mac n' Cheese too,
then this meal would be great lol!
The bad that I used to eat with
this meal...)
• Oriental grilled chicken salad, 1/2
the dressing, no noodles
• Chicken carver, no sauce, fresh
fruit
• All meats: No skin! No sauce!

Taco Bell
• No sour cream, light cheese and
guacamole
• Chicken soft tacos
• Bean burrito
• Fiesta chicken burrito
• Taco salad with salsa - NO TACO
SHELL
• Best Bet: Any tacos or burritos
from the "Fresco Style" menu

McDonald's (I only eat the breakfast)
• Chicken McGrill sandwich with
BBQ, No Mayo, side salad, low-fat
vinaigrette
• Grilled chicken caesar, 1/2 packet
low-fat balsamic vinaigrette
• Grilled chicken California Cobb
salad, 1/2 packet low-fat balsamic
vinaigrette
• Egg McMuffin
• 2 scrambled eggs, English Muffin
• Fruit & yogurt parfait

Subway
• Bread option: whole wheat, Honey
wheat or flatbread
• The more veggies, the merrier! (I
like the spinach leaves over
lettuce
• Choose lean meats: turkey, ham
or roast beef
• Side item choices: apple slices,
yogurt, raisins, parfait or baked
chips

Dining out...

Sit-down restaurants:
• Start with a salad, low fat dressing
• Ask for grilled chicken or fish
• If you want a steal then trim off
the fat, choose less marbling,
cooked without butter or sauces
• Steamed vegetables
• Eat rolls, breads, and potatoes in
moderation
